Re: What's for Dinner?
Leftover ham from Sunday's dinner guests, with leftover scalloped potatos and peas & carrots - & just a bit of apple sauce left.

How do you make trout so it doesn't taste like fish?

Add half a lemon juice, lots of lemon pepper seasoning and a bunch of parsley. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 min. depending on the thickness of the fish. Usually 15. But...if you don't like fish, ya just don't like it!

It's Friday again. Chicken wing night!
Trying out Wong Wing Honey Garlic pork (from your freezer section) to go with it - as I'm a little shy on the requisite number of wings!

Tonight was stew - simmered for most of the day with a few bay leaves, several Allspice peppercorns , and onion, a celery stalk and a carrot. A 1/4 cup of red wine (who wants to waste TOO MUCH red wine on the food?) a couple tablespoons of vinegar toward the end; plus a teaspoon of sugar; some spices - onion and garlic powder, celery seed - and thickened with corn starch. Potatos simmered with it for about an hour - and some Bovril beef flavouring to give it the extra zing.
A great meal on a yukky day like today!

Kishgo, you and hubby obviously are fish lovers! I on the other hand, don't like the smell, and hate choking on the bones......which I always seem to get. For sea food, shrimp and scallops are my choices always.

gale force, I'm with you. I would LOVE to like fish - but it's only Lake Erie perch (or smallmouth bass) that are "unfishy" enough for my taste (and sense of smell!)

Re: What's for Dinner?
We love all kinds of fish, hubby more so than me. We only ate fish sticks when I was kid, way back in the dinosaur days. Hubby has introduced me to this food group. Can't say I love it all, but most of it is fine. Lobster is one I can do without. Very bland and so much work just to eat it!
Our diet has very little red meat in it. But I do love a bbqed steak! Medium rare please!
