What's for Dinner?
Hee hee..I don't care what hubby has! The girls are taking me out for a birthday dinner. Positive the menu selection will be fabulous and even more certain the company will be tops!

Happy Birthday!
Didn't we have a stay-at-home birthday just a little while ago? Do you get a week's worth of birthday treats?

Well, the way I see it, birthday celebrations should last at least for a month, in honour of the 'labour' my mom went through. OR, if you prefer, birthday celebrations should be spread out so that you don't eat too much cake or ice cream at one time. OR, if you prefer, stretching out your birthday makes that decade more fun! Take your pick or add another reason. Still two more dinners to go!

I've lost track! I just feel so blessed to have so many great friends who want to celeberate for ANY reason! And we do! One son's (not mine) divorce finally happened and so we celebrated. A lost cat was found, so we celebrated...you get the picture. Any reason and out comes the wine. The company is something I really miss when we move in the summer.

Re: What's for Dinner?
I just about gag at the thought of food these days. I think I've overeaten every day since Christmas. Even though I ate out last night, nothing on the menu had much appeal, my fault, not the restaurants. I even lost three pounds on the cruise! Not sure HOW that happened but it did. I'm tired of cooking too.
Today I made my fave cauliflower and cheese soup with substitutions that I had in the fridge. (no cream, used skim milk, not enough cheddar cheese, substituted something else) One hour later we sat down for lunch to the most unappetizing and yucky soup. See? I"m off! Way off!
Maybe I should try a liquid dinner.....tea!

Kishgo- maybe you could post the recipe for that cauliflower soup - the real one - not the yukky one - in the Food section.

I might just do that. It really is delicious on a cold day.

Doesn't even have to be a cold day......it is delicious! I tried it out before when Kishgo recommended it, and made it for a family visit. Everyone raved!

Chicken roasted in the oven here tonight. Enough leftovers for chicken-a-la-king tomorrow night - as well as sandwiches. Love it when a plan comes together - (no full meal prep tomorrow!)

Jerk chicken tonight - in the oven, though, not over open wood somewhere; mashed potatos, broccoli & apple sauce.

Re: What's for Dinner?
Company's gone back north, next wave doesn't come in until next weekend (phew thank goodness!) So, I guess I can say I'm back into my bad habits of taking something frozen and zapping it for the required minutes. Didn't realize how much I would miss REAL FOOD!!! the Chicken Pot Pie didn't meet the taste test at all! the odd thing is that I've had these pies at home (Stoffers), but its packaged in a larger size down here and just in my opinion, the flavour factor is definitiely affected.

Heard that there were other fishermen out there today - who had to get towed in. SO there must have been a few more of you out there!
