Christmas Shopping Empty Christmas Shopping

Have you started yet? My first official gift was purchased yesterday at Joe's (Loblaws brand) when I saw the most adorable striped sweater dress for our two year old grand-daughter. I think I will earnest begin in a few weeks.

Horrors!

I hate to even THINK about it. When did summer and Christmas become so closely juxtaposed?

For me, when I saw the sweater dress, I knew I had to have it for our youngest grandchild. However, she will be visiting in Nov. Sigh, I might just 'have' to give it to her, along with a sticker book!

So then you WON'T have started Xmas shopping yet - and I'll feel better! LOL

Our daughter in Aust. starts asking what we want in JULY! She's already sent her parcel - but then, snail mail can take up to 3 months sometimes - if not sent Air Mail. Much more economical way to go. I'm just TOO UNABLE to get her gifts ready in time to do that!

Haven't even started to think about it. Not my most favorite chore by any means. Yes, I said "chore"!

I've started, and luckily only have a few to buy for up here. I actually delivered four "early christmas - thank you" gifts this week. A few presents for my mom are ready to be wrapped but most of her gifts are fresh flowers (still to be ordered) and gift certificates (still to be purchased). The family in Ohio will be taken out for dinner when I am there, and that leaves me time for the "southern" branch once I get down to Florida. Not too heavy a load for me to handle - not all at once!!

The Wish Book!!!! I remember when I was a girl (many, many years ago!) the day the Simpson Sears Christmas catalogue arrived was something joyous. Oh the wants and desires for any number of things shown there - we mulled over that book for days on end. Eventually we would arrive at our decisions and inform our parents of our deepest desires, and then wait with bated breath to see what would be under the tree Christmas morning.
