Holy Tornado Batman!

Certainly don't mean to make light of the situation with my title, but it seems that a huge, devestating tornado (or tornados) tore through the southern and eastern United States last night. I thought this was a little early for tornado season, but apparently not. Deaths and massive destruction in its wake!

They were fairly powerful tornadoes as well.

I was on the phone with an associate in our Cleveland, Georgia facility this afternoon when he hung up on me. Shortly later I received a call back from him with apologies, but the tornado warning had went out so they had to take shelter.

Based on the recent heavier storms these past couple years we have also identified a tornado gathering spot in our factory. It just seems as though it's just a matter of time anymore.

It's a good idea Ruby T. Better to know ahead than left scrambling at the last minute.
Hubby and I have talked about this too, especially last summer when the winds at our cottage reached 100 km/hour. Trees were uprooted. He felt our safest place was in the crawl space under the cottage. Slightly embarassed, I had to gently say that in essence, he may not fit! He amended it somewhat....he may not fit to the centre of the cottage but easily at the point of entry.
It was the summer of storms for us.

News tonight says that before the night is over, a possible 100 tornados may hit the U.S.

They also say tornado season "starts" on March 1st. Seems like they started EXACTLY on time!

Average tornado count for the US per year is 1000. Must be trying to break a record.

The end of the world is getting closer

I'm sure you've all being watching that devestation in the U.S. I think they said 93 tornados reported between the Gulf of Mexico and the Geat Lakes on Friday - over 30 dead! Heard one report of a 4 yr. old boy being torn out of the arms of his mother! UNIMAGINABLE HORROR that would have been.

And, when you see the images of what used to be a town - Henryville was the one they showed most often, I think, - you just can't comprehend how that could happen!
