Well according to a survey we are being gouged royally for hydro and smart meters and the government says no! Anyone care to join in on this?

What I am trying to fiure out is -- we pay 10 cents per kilowatt (round figures) but the govt is paying the windmill operators 80 cents a kilowatt/ Where is this other 70 cents coming from. Wait I think I know

The WHOLE fiasco with hydro is so outrageous that it's hard to say anything about it. The problem is we can't change it - and nobody is going to reimburse all the wasted $$$$ anyway!

If they did reimburse it would be from your wallet anyway

What I find ironic is that the people responsible for this are getting a life long pension, no possibility of recourse and got re-elected with a majority. Now I know politics should be treaded upon lightly but give me a break. Hello!!

Agree tippy. It's HOW did they get re-elected? Answer - Toronto. The rest of the province voted against them. So, I guess, the question is - What is Toronto getting that makes them want to retain the status quo?

Why is anyone surprised about this? I can't believe the hydro prices. We pay $25 a month even when the hydro is shut off, just to keep the account 'open'. If we close the account, then the start up fee is $65. What a rip off!!
In FL, our last hydro bill was $73 with a/c running all the time. FL is outraged about the costs and for January, another reduction will be noticed. In Ontario we pay about $200 per month with intermittent use of a/c. (Granted, the cottage is not well insulated. Wait, probably no insulation at all!!)

We can't do without any of the services needed to maintain jobs and residences but we can and must abolish corruption in the governments. Protests are just one method of showing disapproval but boosting these criminals out of office and into jail is a sure fire way to potentially eliminate future similar actions. We've become a "yes" society and just sit back and say, "well what can we do". Everyone thinks someone else will pick up the ball and run with it, time for folks to wake up and smell what they're sitting in! It ain't going to go away by itself.

I agree with what you say tippy - yet it IS still undeniable that the party that DID this - along with several other horrendously money wasting things like EHealth and Ornge - got voted back in - WITH A MAJORITY! Didn't that let the party of the moment know that all was well and good? People were happy with what they were doing?
