Parking at Norfolk General
See the issue is surfacing in today's Simcoe Reformer.
Parking at the hospital is a problem, as I see it. It's pretty expensive to use the hospital lot, if you're visiting frequently when a family member is ill - OR where do visitors to residents at the Hospital Nursing Home park? What REALLY annoyed me was when they grassed over some of the former short term parking spaces in front of the Emerg entrance. It has become next to impossible for a single person to deliver someone who needs to be conveyed by wheelchair to Emerg - as there's nowhere to park; - just 4 or 5 "pick up" spaces - which are usually all occupied!

Re: Parking at Norfolk General
I've spent a ton of time at NGH and St. Mary's in Kitchener over the past month and a half as my husband had a heart attack and needed a double by-pass.
Never paid for parking at NGH, but paid $10 per day at St. Mary's only because I needed a permit to park on the adjacent streets ... So I was forced to use the parking lot.
So if you need a pass to park on the street the problem in Simcoe will go away.

He's absolutely excellent now. Time will get him from where he is back to 100% shortly. What a lucky man, and such great care ...

Yes, St Mary's in Kirchener. They are the regional cardiac centre. What a great place to be if you have a heart condition.

What a scare RT. Glad to hear all is good again.
Regarding the parking at NGH, it's always been a problem forever. However, I don't think employees should have to pay to park to get to work.

RT how was your experience in Simcoe? On the other forum they knock NGH as the worst in Canada. Never a good think to say. But then sometimes everything is better outside of Simcoe. Wonder why they still live here

Well, I don't want to be negative, but not the best. Not that he didn't have good care, that was fine. We had some bad info about what was happening the day of his transfer to St Mary's, and that frustrated me. Otherwise, he was only there for a couple of days. A bit dingy in his room, lack of signage in the hospital.

Have heard a few horror stories - including one when a family member "complained", they were told to complain to their MP, rather than the staff!
