Re: What have you read lately?
Michael Crichton's sequel to "Jurassic Park" - "The Lost World".
I guess I'm quite a few years late in getting at this one - but it was kinda enjoyable. One got visions of the movie (Jurassic Park) while reading it, which, for once, was helpful in the enjoyment of the novel.
I usually find that I like to make my own "pictures" of what the novelist is describing - but with "characters" as unfamiliar as different dinosaurs, it was very helpful to be able to picture the creatures as depicted in the movie.

Tried a couple other writers I've never heard of before. "Watch Me Die" by Erica Spindler is a "thriller" - but it's set in New Orleans and has a bit of a different aspect - dealing with stained glass and New Orleans churches.
"Hotwire" by Alex Kava (a woman) is a "Maggie O'Dell novel". That would appear to mean that there are more in this series where this Maggie is the protaganist. This one was set in Nebraska - another new venue for most of the crime novels I read - and included some 'incidental' social commentary with it.
Both were worth reading.

Closing up the house in the south and just too busy to read. A few more days of work and then travel and I'll be home again and making my first trip of many to the library. Looking forward to being home again!

Safe journey GF. Are you driving or flying? (Think it's the latter but we have so many snowbird friends I lose track!)

Flying most of the way (no broom involved either lol) then a visit with family, pick up my car, and drive the rest of the way home. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good weather for both legs of the journey.

I DID remember about stop to visit the family and as soon as I saw your note, I remembered the logistics. Are you happy you decided to return to Florida this year?

Re: What have you read lately?
With the exception of the stress applied with family visitors for a month I think I handled the return to Florida by myself fairly well. Lots of repairs to look after and more to be done when I return. Yes, I'm glad I came back and rejoined the world around me. I appreciate you asking Kishgo.
I apologize for going off topic.

Read The Postcard Killers by James Patterson and Liza Marklund (a Swedish author).
Interesting change of venue for Patterson - and a good read.

Nettalk duo is a phone company in a box that we are attempting to set up at the cottage with no costs for USA/Canada calling and free 411 and 911 access. Much cheaper than using our cell phones.
