Christmas To Do List Empty Christmas To Do List

Address the cards (half done)
Set up and decorate the tree
Put up indoor decorations
Put up outdoor decorations
Bake, eat, bake some more.
Find the Christmas music
Don't decorate until after Remembrance Day

What else should be added to the list?
I made a Tart au Chocolat today, an experiment to determine if I will make it for Christmas dinner dessert. The chocolate pastry was more difficult than anticipated. Had to do it a couple of times. Some of my neighbours are the guinea pigs!

I don't even want to THINK about Christmas yet - so I'm certainly not ready to help you with your list! LOL

LOL Observer. I plan to have it all done by Dec. 1st, except for the wrapping. (Buuuut, there's always Plan B!)

And what will you do in regard to ddecorating this year Kishgo. You have said that you plan to head south for a few months beginning in January. All that work and pride involved in putting up all the beautiful things also involve a lot of work to take down and put away in that measely 7 day period between Christmas and New Years, when you will also be getting ready to become a snow bird!

@observer...host parties and attend parties!
@Gale Force, a problem to be sure. I was thinking that I may just put up the tree and when we leave, wrap a sheet around it. In April, leave the sheet on, ready for our Oct. Nov. return from the cottage. If we didn't have grandchildren here, I wouldn't bother at all. A scaled down house decorating to be sure. Maybe. We'll see!!

Great idea about the sheet Kishgo. It's not like you would have to work around it until the next holiday season. One of my relatives used to do that also. She wrapped her tree and stored it in her garage for a number of years. Would periodically add/subtract decorrations as desired.

I'm going on my summer vacation in another week, so I'm not starting anything until December.

Where are you going? Right now - this year - it seems like a November get away is alsmost equivalent to a Feb get away. No Indian summer happening here anyway!

November could be a great month to get away for a week or so. It can be kind of dreary, not yet really cold, not too warm and not too sunny.
If I could, I'd do it for even a long weekend!

Each year I move further into a Bah! Humbug frame of mind re this christmas thing. I am forced to celebrate, but if it disappeared I would not care. It seems more and more every year like it is a desperate holiday celebration.
Being decidedly non-christian in my beliefs doesn't help either.

Slowfood - I empathize!

Ruby - Cuba is great! Have been there a few times - mostly Varadero - but once to Holguin. Nice inexpensive place to get away from Ontario's weather!

Christmas To Do List Empty Re: Christmas To Do List

Post by growler Tue Nov 13, 2012 10:06 am

my bride just returned from florida, after 2 weeks, one in oct. and one in nov. she say's nicest weather she ever had in fl.and has been there a lot.
that was why i bought a timeshare for use in october, but no one ever wanted to use it with me,as they said summer was to tiring (i thought that was why you vacation,to get away from the rush and relax?)!
but as no one in my family is interested, and i have been unlucky at renting it, i now wish i could get rid of it, but no one seems interested. and as i can no longer travel, it's just a wasted posesion.
can someone pass the cheese, as i've got the whine !
