"OPP Investigators say a Norfolk resident is out $16,000 U.S. after falling victim to a timeshare scam.

According to authorities, the victim was contacted by a fake real estate agent in July seeking to sell their time share in Kissimmee Florida.

As a result, real estate fees were negotiated and property taxes settled which resulted in approximately $16,000 US dollars being sent through a money transfer service on four separate occasions.

The Norfolk County OPP is reminding everyone that timeshare scams will not work if sellers do not send the scam artist any money. Beware of who you are dealing with"
