Canadian woman reportedly seized by ISIS in Shria

Yet another reported captive ... The are still trying to confirm this claim.

Saw that. This one is going to be interesting. My understanding is that she was the first woman - or Canadian woman, anyway - to volunteer to join the Kurds in their fight against ISIS. Dual citizenship, I understand - Canada and Israel; living in Israel. So, she was a combatant, rather than a civilian, so to speak. No idea how this one will play out.

I'm hearing on the news now that she was a former Israeli soldier - emigrated to Israel in 2006. And, as yet, there is no certainty about whether she's been captured.

One would think after some be headings and torture that this is not a safe place, yet some people still believe they are safe.Why oh why do these people continue to place not only themselves in jeopardy but cause unnecessary danger to rescuers. Those areas should be left to settle their own agendas in any way they see fit whether it be war or annihilation. Civilized nations cannot make these barbarians into anything they don't want to be by throwing money at them, their fate is their choice, holy wars have been fought since King Arthur or even before. My thinking is to just stay away and not put more people at risk.

Some of it may be idealism, I think. And some of it may just be a feeling of invincibility - and a desire for adventure.

But YES - putting "rescuers" at risk as well is a bit questionable.

Reportedly, this young woman has posted on Facebook that she is fine - and not a captive. Seems they're not 100% certain about the post yet - but THINK it's real.
