some of these clydes,breeding stock,came from the team's that were raised and owned by the OAC in guelph ont.
when the province cutfunding to the ontario agricultural college,the OAC, they were sold via auction back when i was very young(?)
i seen them as an 8 horse hitch back when they had oac day's in guelph,as my grandfather helped look after them,as they had them taken all over for parades and stuff,like the cne (yes they had that way back then)
during the auction an american dealer came and bought them and the wagon's,harness's and every thing and paid almost $100,000. ffor the stuff.
i remember seeing letters in the mercury (the newspaper for guelph)from someone saying the dealer paid way to much for everything, then in a month or two later they had a story about them being sold to busch for a million $'s.
but no letter to the editor about it.
but grandad snickered about it !
