Saw Regis Philben on the Weekend

My wife received comp tickets for his show at the Seneca Niagara Casino. He sang, talked, had some audience participation on stage for an hour and 45 minutes. I didn't know what to expect, but I enjoyed it a lot. Another thing I liked was the 18 piece stage orchestra.
We can thank a young lady from Hamilton, who managed to get in an F shot and mentioned her exes small penis right off the start. Regis really liked her, and she had red bra straps showing, he mentioned them about 3 times and then started to say red panties, he then turned red.
He gave her a bouquet of flowers and closed the show with her. Strange.
He's 80 and looking at the audience there were a whole lot of them my mother's (his) age, and then there was the younger group that watched Regis and Kathy Lee, and Regis and Kelly shows.A pretty entertaining show overall.

I have to admit I could never understand the appeal of Regis Philben. Quite possibly, he was more entertaining in real life.

I never thought of him as a stand-up comic. He has the occasional razzy line once in a while but what do you talk about for almost two hours to a large crowd?

I don't like his references to younger women and sexy things. I just find it has the Ugh factor for me.

I think we saw the tip of that ugh factor in his reaction to the attention and red bra straps from that lady from Hamilton. He does have appeal though.
He's 80 and he causes all sorts of preening and sexual posturing amongst those who went up on stage-some in their 30's.
The biggest laugh of the evening came when a woman came up and had Regis autograph a picture. She then said it would be laminated and placed on her mother's head stone. Show stopper. Biggest hit for me was the live band, don't often get to hear an 18 piece.
