Another passing Empty Another passing

Post by kishgo Mon Mar 05, 2012 4:38 pm

Three people in our circle of family and friends have died in one week. The hardest to understand is how a 54 year old man has to go through excruciating cancer, dies within 8 months of diagnosis and leaves behind a wife with three children 11, 9, and 7. We have been with this family every step along the way and it has been eight months of ups and many downs, especially when the children had to be told that Daddy would not beat the cancer and would die. Sad It was two weeks later that the inevitable happened. Our hearts ache for the whole family.

Sounds undeniably heartbreaking. Some things never make sense.

Sympathies.

Our grandchildren are exactly the same age and gender as the deceased's children. Very close. They all knew that Tony was not going to beat the cancer, but they are kids and waaaay too young to have to experience death, especially of a parent. Hearts are heavy today.

Deepest sympathy Kishgo. You are never prepared for a death even when you know it is near. My condolences to that family. May their memories help hold them together in their grief.

Thanks to all. I'm trying to think of a special way to honour their father, something kids can relate to. The best I can come up with is a special story I remember about them all at the cottage, written inside a card. Any better ideas out there?????

My sympathies. Go with the happy remembrances, and look at his legacy.

kishgo - can't think of anything more meaningful than the story you were thinking of.

Thanks everyone. As I said, it's bad enough to lose a friend but oh my, a father.

Deepest sympathy Kishgo. It's always difficult losing someone but as a child to lose a parent or a parent losing a young child just breaks your heart!

Since the beginning of December to the beginning of Feb. we lost my brother-in-law, cousin & my Mom, & three family friends. Just too may in such a short itme.

Oh catscraps that's awful. It's amazing what we have to go through and yet carry on. Hope you are dealing with it all in a positive fashion.

Just heard that another in law, very young, has pancreatic cancer and several tumours on his liver. G. in his thirties with two toddlers at home. How sad. What's with all the pancreatic cancer lately????
Spoke with an island neighbour who has lymphoma, a tumour on his neck, stomach and leg. Best case, three more months. Dignosed a year ago.
Too many, too close.
