most likely know this already, but it's new to old slo-poke me ! my daughter is in charge of accounting for her employer, and they lease a lot of land in norfolk, oxford, and elgin, and part of their agreement is that they also pay the taxes on this land.

she said that in elgin and oxford the taxes are on average 60% higher than in norfolk !

the land is all zoned agricultural, and is all rural, but the taxes are higher.

and then my sil said the taxes they paid on two homes,1 in norfolk and the other in elgin, both rural, and appraised for near the same value (within $5,000.)and that the home in norfolk had taxes 35% lower.

i know the councillors and mayor get paid about 1/2 less in wages, but i thought our taxes were higher ?

confused.
