And just tell me how we would do that? And where that would put us in terms of having a governing body?
They KNOW all that stuff, I think - that the worst that might happen is that a few people might get fired from their jobs - the "lower end of the totem pole", of course; and that MAYBE some people might remember when the next election comes - provided there aren't a whole bunch of other factors that are more important in the eyes of the electorate at the time.
The "big guys" are always able to find a way to dissociate themselves from the "dirty tricks" - except the one noteable, I guess - Tricky Dicky Nixon!
In my opinion anyway!

I know that can't happen but maybe it should. At least have a reelection in those ridings

Yes, I know it's not accomplishing anything "fruitful" for the moment by spending time on this; on the other hand, if time is never taken to consider if there have been past abuses - future abuses are more likely to happen, because they go unnoticed and unpunished anyway!

CBC News says tonight that Elections Canada has received calls from 31000 Canadians with issues about the last election. Elections Canada, apparently, is going to open an unprecedented inquiry into the issue.

Is it a waste of time to find out if the government running our country cheated their way into that position? If nothing is done are the chances of it happening again not greater? If cheating worked for us before why not try again?
Re: So, how about those "robocalls"?
i think if it works out that a riding may have had someone else elected, then hold a re=election!
but i don't think the calls they got were all from the ridings that got the calls.
so then it wouldn't matter.
and the thing about using US based company's don't count for anything as the manager for the person running for election was likely the one who done the hiring and probably was given the name and 800 number by someone else and never knew it was a US company !
and i do agree with others that it's just a whiny deal, and they should just get back to work !

Growler - no question that the "business of the nation" should not go unattended - BUT - I still feel that if there's been "monkey business" that happened during the election process, it definitely SHOULD be addressed.
And it doesn't sit well to one day say: "It was the bad Liberals who used U.S. companies" and the next day to have the revelation that so did the Cons. Come on!
What happened to "transparency" in government that we were promised?
