Time to move
First the train wreck and now a km away, a tractor trailer loses control on a ramp (going too fast), the big block engines come barreling out as the truck part dangles over the ramp to another road below. Driver had to be cut out of the cab. Tons of emergency services on hand and the never ending buzz of helicopters. Orgne was on site too.

Re: Time to move
LOL rbw. Some excitement I can do without.
Last year I noticed a car parked in front of our place. We have no street parking in our complex nor was the car a familiar one and just a tad 'tired' looking. Most unusual. So, after picking up the paper, brave me, still in my housecoat (it was 6 AM), I ventured out to take a look. Now really, what was I expecting? A body? It's always a possiblity. I took down the license number and called the police. The car had been stolen and dumped in front of our place. The car thief 'traded' the old clunker for our neighbour's new Chevy!!! Our sleepy little area had some excitement for the day and something to talk about!

Re: Time to move
Honestly, I'm not making this up.
This morning about 7:30 took the dog out for his morning 'business' Noticed a big pile of something on the lawn by the curb. Upon closer investigation it was a pile of small eletronics (cell phones, cameras, chargers, DVDS etc) We opened the cell phone to look at the contacts, all there. Turns out it is my neighbour's stuff that she had left in her unlocked car overnight, planning to take it to Best Buy for recylcing. Her trunk was open as was her glove box with an extra set of car and house keys, still there. Dumb move. My hubby told her what could have happened if the thieves had taken the keys. You would think a 50 year old would know better....keys, locking your car and taking out the SIM card from the cell phone.
Another good reason for a gated community, which ours was supposed to be but the builder and the association changed in order to save some money.

So I decided to have look back at comments made on the forum. Found this one in 2012 only three years ago but it feels like a lifetime ago!
