Perhaps tonight

Perhaps tonight I will become an official Great Aunt. ( My nieces always tell me I am a great aunt already!)
My oldest niece is having her first baby sometime this evening, her first. That will make my brother and his wife official first time grandparents. Their second daughter is due in August. Busy year!
We are all so excited.

It's exciting to see the "line" go on, isn't it? Adding a new potential ???? (Einstein - Babe Ruth - Bill Gates - guy next door????) to the world!!!

He was born just before midnight by C Section, a healthy 8 lb. 13 oz. And of course he is simply beautiful.
I agree Observer, it's good to witness this line carry on and the new parents included my father's (and brother's ) name as the new baby's middle name. I love that. Wish I could have done it too.
Second niece is due in Aug. Very exciting year.

Congratulations on becoming a "great aunt". (although sometimes, we could happily forego that 'title', couldn't we? - for all its implications!)

Sadly, yes, Observer. At 49, I'm much too young to be a Great Aunt.
