According to the Guide to Identification of Birds of North America, it is a white throated sparrow. My husband has seen one here before, as he has it checked off in the bird book.

We have a fountain on our deck - just steps from the patio door in the kitchen. There is a also a bird bath about 20 ft. further away. The birds FIGHT over the fountain perch, with its gently flowing water - and usually ignore the bird bath with the still water.
They're still usually observant enough to fly away before I can get a photo of them tho'>

I think chicadees are colourful birds. Almost flourescant like. Other than the typical yellow ones I haven't seen many other ones. Are there any other colours besides yellow?

Well dwn here by the pond and the 3 acre wood , the gang here Eeyore, Win, Chris and Owl and I have a great bird watching area . 4 feeders going strong , on average 15 different types of birds at one time .
The best we ever did was a few winters a go just after a march snow storm . 32 different types of birds in 1 day . Bird feed bought in bulk and delivered with the horse and Eeyore feed . No wonder I am broke between dogs ,cat, horses ,birds and wife .
And then there was the hawks that come in and feed on the fattened birds that I fed all winter . Used to have a Sharpshinned hawk that would hide under the bush below the one feeder and pounce on a bird when it tried to feed on the spilt feed on the ground
First year no turkeys , have come walking through
