Kids are spoiled
Twice now in the last few days I have seen a mother come out of the house in her coat, start the car, clean the ice off all the windows, the one time even cleaned the dash and picked up garabage. Then a few minutes later her 16 year old son comes out and takes off. Is there some thing wrong here.
She is also the one that takes out the blue boxes each week. I have never seen him do it once.

Seems to me that this mother is creating her own problems, but probably won't understand when her son (continues to) become a leach incapable of making anything of himself. He obviously is not responsible for anything. What a shame.

Spoiling a child is the worst thing you can do. I know someone who has a 30-something son living at home and he is waited on hand and foot. Doesn't lift a finger willingly to help her in any way. At least he does have a job so he is not a financial burden. I doubt he will get married anytime soon - where would he find a woman who would look after him like mommy?

That could be a very big leap into the real world when/if the caretaker disappears.
