Does anyone use a Keurig?
Lots of ads for it. And I have a few acquaintances that have one. Do you? If so, why?

I don't have one either, but have been thinking that for one person who is trying to drink less coffee than she has for years, it should be ideal. The only time I have had coffee made by one I found it much to strong for my taste but perhaps that can be adjusted.

I don't have one either, but my son does and like gail force,
I find the coffee to be too strong.
Think I will stick to my Hamilton Beach 'brew station"..

Those coffee machines take up a lot of space on the counter plus use hydro to keep the water warm for fast use

Why not Keurig?
I find that they offer too many types of coffee flavored drinks, I really love a good, steaming cup of coffee first thing in the morning. Real coffee that is not this chocolate, mint, tapioca, raspberry stuff they are offering, if I wanted a milkshake I'd get a milkshake. The cost factor is another prohibitive fact, the cost of the individual packs as well as the cost of the brewer makes it a bit pricey, just my 2 cents worth.

I also agree with your concept of letting coffee be coffee! I find similar with a lot of food issues - veggies that have cheese sauce added, for example. I don't mind that for a change - but basically, I like my veggies to taste like the veggie it is!

Re: Does anyone use a Keurig?
We got one last fall. The reason being is that devery day my husband complained about the coffee; too bitter, too weak, too strong .... You get it. Even tho I made it virtually the same every day. I think it was in his head.
I bought him a Keurig. What can I say about them? They (coffee packs) can be expensive if you don't by modestly priced ones. It was very difficult after we bought it to find a coffee we liked. We had drank Maxwell House for years and thos was quite a transition. Anyhow, we tried several coffee iterations and now drink the President's Choice coffee. It's 17.99 for a 40 pack box.
I will admit, they are extremely convenient. We don't drink the flavoured stuff, but our son does, so he just buys his own.
Every coffee in those units are extremely different, as there are tons of different brands.. We tend to like our coffee quite strong and it took a bit to get one that was strong enough for us.
I like it, but I wouldn't have bought it because I am too cheap. Now that we have one I don't think I would go back to the old way. They now have Keurig carafes too I see.

Yes - I understand they now have the carafes too. Makes no difference to ME, actually - but makes sense as a business move.

Re: Does anyone use a Keurig?
I had one as well. (It was a gift from someone who loves to visit us on the island but didn't like our coffee!)Sadly, over the winter, something didn't drain correctly, froze and in the spring, it didn't work. But that didn't' break our hearts. The pucks were too expensive for our liking. We drink about four cups a day. I grind beans and then use the water/carafe version. In FL we use the same method.
In FL we have discovered Peet's Beans Dark Roast. Absolutely love it!
