Toronto Star has an article today about a 46 year old man who was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 lung cancer in Hamilton, and then went to the US for further opinions - to be told he didn't have cancer at all. Instead it turns out to be a treatable disease called "sarcoidosis". Took over 6 months before Hamilton agreed with the new diagnosis! Scary stuff!

I saw that, wholly cow. What a terrible experience for that young man and his family. Pure torture.

Although I can understand that our modern day medicine techniqes aren't 100% fool proof at all times, I can't image being the 1 in XXXXXX that gets the wrong diagnosis.
