I'm having my dinner today, so the rest of the day will be fairly busy!

We had ours yesterday, just the 2 of us. Had one of those stuffed turkey breast in a box. Very good and no mess or fuss or waste. Baby headed back to Edmonton on Saturday and other son floating around on the Great Lakes. Holidays are not what they used to be for us. Enjoy your day if today is the big one.

We enjoyed a most delicious ham dinner with island friends at their place. I made my first pumpkin pie since 1972 and honestly, it was fantastic! I think the whipping cream in the filling played a huge role in the flavour. I also made lemon meringue cheesecake tarts. Not one left so I guess they were good too!
Today is our 'turkey' day with just the two of us. Calm, peaceful, sleepy.

Do you miss those days, or is the peacefulness a bit of a relief?

I misss the old days but now that we are older enjoy the peace and quite also. Wish we were younger so we could enjoy the old larger parties. We had some dandies years ago. I even remember going home from some, some others not so much. Families branch off and each do their own thing.

"Festivities" over. Butterball turkey is the best! Meal turned out great, which is satisfying, and a couple of the guests who live alone were able to take home a meal for tomorrow. That's standard practice for T'giving here. Hubby is still going to be b*tching about "Turkey again?" as the week goes on - but he should be thankful there's that much leftover! LOL. I AM - fewer meals to start from scratch this week.

My hubby loves lots of leftovers but turkey doesn't exactly agree with his body. I 'hear' him now....
