Our backyard is a carpet of red maple leaves. The front yard is literally covered in acorns! True signs of autumn.
We've never experienced such a fall of acorns. Without any exaggeration we have thousands on our front lawn. We hear them fall from trees, hit the roof and bounce to the deck an umbrella for protection. Weird. Must be a cyclical thing.

Yes have have had them for some time but last year was the worst until this year. I was told that Oak trees have to be 40 - 50 years old before they produce acorns. Not sure how true that is. My trees are at least 60 years old now

Guess ours would be that old too. The acorns are everywhere!!!!! We have the majority of oak trees on the island but they are falling all about.
