Calling all Gardeners
Hello Fellow Gardeners!
I have a problem that perhaps you can help me solve. We have an area between our cottage and the garden shed (aka Hubby's Hideaway!) that is mostly compacted dirt and rock. We'd like to plant a groundcover that will not grow too high as to impede walking and carrying things and one that will tolerate full shade. Because everything must be transported by boat to the island, we are looking for the least amount of goods to be involved.
Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Re: Calling all Gardeners
We have moss growing in one area and have tried numerous times to transplant it but the new growth never takes. Periwinkle is too tough to walk on. We have it in another area of our property and although it grows well, I just can't see us carrying anything to the back shed, walking on the periwinkle and not tripping. I really wanted to try creeping thyme but I think it would cost too much unless we are willing to wait years. I threw some clover seed down for now and watch to see if it grows or not. The seed wasn't costly nor difficult to plant. Almost too easy. Sigh I may be doomed!

Re: Calling all Gardeners
i'll try to find,or remember a film clip i seen,on how to propogate (grow) moss in a new location.
it was just a short thingy about transplanting it and i thought simple at the time.
i'll likely get a headache over it now, thanks in advance !
