Hey gf - Are you far enough south to be avoiding the predicted frost?

Nope. We are in the county furthest south in the area to be hardest hit. I've wrapped my outside water faucets, opened the vanity doors in the bathrooms, and set the taps for a slow drip. Thankfully, I don't have shrubs or plants to worry about but now my lawn will be brown again!! I'm hoping that the farmers will be able to save their crops. Strawberry season is at its peak right now down here.

I'm in Naples. It was very cool this morning at 4:30 AM and continues to be so. (Gee,the sun's not even out yet!!) When I looked out, I couldn't see any signs of frost on the car but it's quite nippy out there!

I'm west of Lakeland OB, over on the gulf coast just south of Spring Hill.

Looks like heavy frost on my car window, temp is 30 degrees. We were supposed to have some work done on our roads this week starting at 8am this morning. Bet its toooooo cold!!!

gf,do you go to the webster market thingy,the event on monday's and some sunday's?
i made it a point to go there anytime it was open when in fl.,even went there with my truck and trailer if i had time. got to know some vendors pretty well. also when the season for mellons got to it (late may,early june) loaded up near spring hill.
long after you and yours had went north.

We've gone to Fleamaster's in Fort Myers. HUGE place! Quite of variety of old and new, fresh market and live band. Love it.

there is a USA Flea Market at Hwy 19 and 52 that used to be the place to go on the weekends. Progress is in the works (a deep dark secret kind) and the flea market is pretty well done for. the dealers are slowly folding their tents and moving on. There were rumours a few years back about a theme park going to move into that area but so far nothing known to the general public. Suspicions though when you see the highway being widened and four new hotels built in the area recently.

i liked webster as it is normally on monday's, and on monday's there are less people out taking up space,the new arrivals are out to the theme parks,or whatever,and the others are getting read to leave for snow country ?
but as the crowds are thinner, i seemed to be able to purchase stuff a bit cheaper.as we normally drove our car down,i bought anything that i could resell for a decent profit when i got home.
and i met a family that sold pipe connecters, that a customer in no.car. used on things he built,that cost him quadruple the retail this family charged (they were from delaware) so i hooked them up,so they became friends as they sold my customer as much per year as they previously sold altogether,and my customer found out i would/could do more to help him than just truck stuff around !
very good contacts for other goods to. i could get parts for motorcycles for a friend that repaired bikes,and parts for lawnmowers for people in the mower business. plus lots of other goodies !
i guess i've always been a cheapskate !
