We've just received an invitation for the grandson of a couple we know - and we've never even met the grandson!

Does this make sense to anyone?

No necessarily, but maybe. In that case they DO perhaps want ur money, BUT, if you are good friends with the grandparents they (the grandparents) may very well want you there to sare that special day with them. A sense of pride and friendship all in one day.

If ur not close - they are looking for invitees!
