well i see opie's still doing good work in films and special shows.
and mayberry,(mt.airey,n.c.) is still moving along !
the quarrie there supply's a lot of contertops, window sills,curbs and headstones to the world.
not to mention the granite chips they feed to chickens !
i used to haul 3 or so loads of that chicken grit to ontario out of there every month for a lot of years !

Hey Growler, did you ever eat at a place called "The Snapy Lunch" ??
One of thier specialties is a pork chop sandwich.....UMMMM..
They are to die for....I often stop there on my way south,
I love to take the Fancy Gap Road down into there,
really puts the car through its paces..

yeah it's a quite a hill!
and i'm not sure about that restaurant,i did eat at one place quite often, that had a small sorta parking lot,hard to park in it with the truck.
and to try the gap out go in and get a load of that ground granite,(about 47 or 48,000 lbs then climp up the gap, so you can avoid the scale out on the highway !
the weight was okay but maybe not the correct axle weights, not hard with the newer designed trailers but sometimes a bit of a challenge with the older ones.
