why do we pay more for things than they do in the usa ?

like if you price a toyota made in woodstock and then in buffalo,the americans get the same car for as much as $2000. less.

and it don't even cost anymore in shipping !
and some us dealers will sell them to you and deliver it to you on this side of the border !
so why do things like this happen ?
is it our dealers ,our gov't, or are we just being taken advantage of ?


this site can be used to compare prices on things you might want to purchase here and in the usa.
on most shipping and duty is included !
good way to keep merchants honest !
no personal service included !
but on some things you don't get/expect any anyhow !

They charge less so people making less over there buy them? If they charged the higher price less people would buy them? We are Canadians and as such they know we will accept and pay the higher price?

That site is interesting but I want to see a site that shows actual Cost to manufacture price. What does an item cost to make before all the middlemen get their cuts?

Maybe becuz their dollar is higher than ours. It's like buying stuff from china or mexico. It doesn't cost us much to buy it so we can sell it cheaper.

the us dollar is only 2 cents higher today and for most of this year ous's has been higher than theres!
and we just lost navistar from chatham to indiana (they have the uaw there but say their labour cost are lower, plus transportation costs.
and we just lost the bearing mfging out of st.thomas (timken) to ohio and they to have the uaw vs. the caw,but are downsizing the whole company, as the north-amercan car company's are buying their bearings form the far east, but toyota and others are still buying from them,but it's not enough to make up for transportation costs, plus we no longer have a good mfg.of steel tubing,(a canadian comp.took over stelco's tubing plant in st.kitts, and has since closed it down),plus a wage difference!
