Clearing out

Still working on my "less is more" philosophy, I decided to clean out my jewellry box of years of accumulated treasures. I spent a day going through it, remembering the why and the where of each piece. Then came decision time - what to keep and what to let go. The most deeply sentimental pieces are now in the safety deposit box. I took them there when I went to deposit my amazing bounty. The jeweller paid me a thousand dollars for what has been sitting around for about forty years!!!! I guess its a good thing I waited until the price of gold was up! It feels like Christmas in May!

Did you take it to a local jeweler or one of those that come in for a week to scam/ buy what they can???

Yes GF - that sounds great. An extra $1000 here and there never did ANYBODY any harm!

I've dealt with Simcoe Fine Jewellry in the past so that's where I took it.
