safety for the elderly ? 1200308762

didn't read or hear the news release earlier in the week,(to much of a hurry) so i'm not sure what was said, but i hope it is about the unstable people being put into nursing homes that have done physical injury to others.
like the people mentioned on w-5 or some show like that a few weeks back !
i've been thinking about it the last few days as we aquired a new resident here, that no one is telling anything about,(previous residense, age, background info)but who they put a pssw with full time, (private room, with 24 hr attendant).
and who is kept away from the others here, even at mealtime ?

aaawww maybe i'm just imagining a potentil problem ?

Hopefully, growler, this has just been "imagining" a "potential" problem.

But, I agree - ever since the change quite a few years back of having facilities for people who are mentally disturbed was curtailed by the powers that be - there have been many more cases of people who perhaps need supervision - being in undersupervised situations.

well in sudbury a man was killed in the nursing home by someone sent there by a criminal court !
and in ottawa a veteran that was a highly decorated gent was savagely beaten by a former inmate of an insanity instalation who the courts ordered transfered to the nursing home !

don't sound very good to me !

Most of us just hear those things and shake our heads. It would be a totally different reaction if we were there - or had loved ones living there, I'm sure!
