Do you know of anybody that got caught close to the age line for the pension change ? Met a couple of fellows last night at a watering hole and one got screwed by 2 weeks and the other 7 weeks .

Me I am over by a couple of years or so ........ That would really SUCK in my case ,it would *%#@ the plan

Yes, it's probably the 55 year olds who will be most upset by the changes. The 25 year olds will think of it as "always having been that way" - and will plan - OR NOT PLAN - accordingly.

But, I haven't run into anyone personally in that 55+ age group who has been negatively affected.

there are a few here at NHNH who are grumpin about it,but when they mentioned it to me,i said well at least you have a few years to do some planning to help your self out of the hole, where if it was done right now everyone would be screwed for the next 10 or more years !

Does that suggest that you are in agreement with the OAS changes then, growler?

Agreed, retired - but I suspect there are a lot of people who haven't been able to save much for that retirement plan - and DO rely a lot on the OAS.
