Re: Can,t Sleep
I was like that for nearly 5 years,,finally couldnt take it anymore and went to my doctor. Now i use a low dose sleeping pill every night..for me it makes all the difference..Im not saying its the best solution, but its one solution..and for me its worth it.

Re: Can,t Sleep
I take one every night Obof. but still have the awake period once every two weeks. Since I don't have to work the next day, it's not a big deal. Just annoying. I have to find 'jobs' to do between 4 and 7 AM that are quiet and productive.

Re: Can,t Sleep
i used to be somewhat like that, i woke up at 4:30 to 5:30 every day when at rest in a bed, prior to having my stroke.
even when in a motel.
but in the truck, i usually slept about 2-3 hours in the evening after supper, then drove until about 5:-6:30 and slept again until 8:-9: am, then went back to work.
but when in a bed, that was sitting still, i woke up every time !
after sometimes not getting to bed until 1:30 or 2:
just no movement, and i'm like you cutting bait, my wife didn't want to, she had a headache right after our second child was born until i had my stroke,28 1/2 years and hardly ever took a pain pill!
very strong woman !!

Sleep well cuttin bait - if you can!
Very frustrating not to be able to stay asleep - and I'm not referring to YOUR kind of frustration, cuttin'.
I remember when I was younger and HAD to get up for kids, jobs etc - that I could have slept till noon, given the opportunity. Now - no requirement to get up - and - there I am awake - and unable to sleep more!

Try chamomile tea or this one called Sleepy Time Extra. It has a bit of valerian in it. Also you can try melatonin drops, available at health stores or pharmacies.

Re: Can,t Sleep
So, there are a few people here who don 't sleep well. Is anyone using a CPAP(?) machine - I think they're called? The one that you put over your face when you go to bed, and is supposed to pump air, I think, so that you don't go into any sleep apnea?
Would be curious as to how well they work - or don't.

Re: Can,t Sleep
My hubby has used a CPAP for many years. It took some getting used to and a couple of models, but in the end, he slept the night, breathing every minute (instead of the 96 times he stopped breathing in one night) and feeling truly rested in the morning. No more nodding off at any time for any reason. No more repeated yawning (which bothered me to no end!!). His blood pressure went down somewhat (returned to normal when he retired) and his body burned fat more easily.
Downside....it is somewhat unpleasant to look at, has to be carried through and searched at customs when flying, but that's about it. The pros far outweigh the cons.
