An Updaten About a Forum Member

Here's an update about one of our NCF members, aka Duckey:

This is Esther this evening...this is easier just to put on facebook then try to answer those that are wondering why Graham hasn't been on..He unfortunately is in the hospital and has been since Friday..It looks like he may not be out for a bit yet so won't be on. He is in a great deal of pain with his pancreas and it requires him to be on only IV fluids with nothing else until it gets better. Those of you that know him also know he is a heavy smoker and since you can't smoke in the hospital he is having to deal with that issue too. The nurses are very proud of the way he is handling things as this is a tough go but he tries to keep his sense of humor. I too am very proud of him and if my love could make him better he would be. Will try to keep you updated

Duckey or Ducky is a wee bit better. That's all his wife had to say at this time.

Duckey has had a set back. He is retaining all of the IV fluids and his body is quite swollen, according to his wife's latest message. His pancreas and back area are very painful.

Today's update from his wife:

Sorry no update last night but yesterday was a really rough day and I just didn't feel like talking..Good news is today was better..still on clear fluids and iv..still swelling from the feet up to the tummy...still on pain meds but he goes about 4 hours between now..he is tired of being away from home so gets a little restless..I spend as much time as I can there with him even if just to sit with him while he rests.

The latest news from Duckey's wife:
Well it has ben 2 weeks now that Graham has been in the hospital. He says he thinks he is geting better..went for a walk by himself and had a shower by himself. He is on easily digestable food. But still on iv, feet , legs etc. still retaining fluid. He is still on pain killers too. Eating causes the pain still. I don't get it. The ct scan shows good things and all the blood tests are fine so why is he still hurting after all this time

From Esther, Ducky's wife, today on his birthday:

I am wishing Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband even though he can't see this right now he will when he gets home. I love him with all my heart and sure do wish he wasn't where he is. I am taking our grandson up to see him after school with an ice ceam cake which he can have a little of. Hope he is home here with me soon!!!!!
