Best Buy in the USA has been in trouble for a while but now it seems the Canadian Best Buy may also be in trouble.

Stores suddenly closed.

A lot of people want Best Buy or Futureshop to come to Simcoe. After reading that I am not sure I would welcome Best Buy.

Interesting. We have made many purchases from BB in Burlington and never once have we had any difficulty. In fact, they bent over backwards to help us with a laptop issue. Kind of funny when you think about it. We couldn't open the case and neither could they!! After a few feeble attempts, they simply gave us a new one, opening it first to be sure it was right.

We don't spend enough in those kind of stores to keep any of them in business

Best Buy was bought out by Future Shop some months ago (or maybe it was the other way around), so perhaps this is just readjusting the number of stores to match the marketplace.

Noticed last year they had vending machines in a lot of the airports in the USA selling fairly high priced items. Didn't see anyone buying anything

my bride bought a pc from b/b as they were on sale, then after a short time, it started not operating correctly (about a week) so she took it back, and they kept it "to test it". a couple days afterwards they called to say they found the problem to come and pick it up.
after getting there,(london) they gave her the pc back, and also gave her a new microsoft box with the window's programmnig in it,and said the windows in it was flawed so she now had a new program to put in/on it,and asked if she wanted it put in/on it ?
she said didn't you fix it ?
they said no the new program has to be put in it to fix it !
she said why didn't you put it in then?
they said well it cost's $87. to install it and your warranty only covers replacement, not installation cost's !
she was mad,and gave them a piece of her mind (that was an error?) and left!
she then read the warranty and shipped everything back to the regional headquarter's at her expense for a complete refund, and then only got 85% of the cost returned as in the fine print it allows a 15% restocking fee to be taken off the purchase price !
so they now get meals like mine when the name is mentioned,"hot togue, and cold shoulder!"
i enjoy company at the table !
