Telemarketers had two days off! I know! I know! Hard to believe. Usually we have four or five a day, today being the exception at two. We've noticed as well that some call in the morning and early afternoon instead of right at dinner hour. But as of mid January, we are giving up our land line and then there will be NONE to bother us! Hurray to that, boo to giving up our land line.

This is a loose page I found in a very old family book. It's the map of Scotland dated 1839. Really! So I had it framed for my hubby for Christmas. His entire family is from Scotland. 173 years old.
The phone just rang. 202 area code and no name. Three telemarketers today.

Yes we are on that list, for years now and we are down to the four or five a day!! One call came from Washington DC. Hubby said he was too busy to advise the president today. They'll have to call back! LOL

BTW and Off Topic, thank you to the many people who shared their opinions about teachers either on the forum or sent me a private message. I don't mind listening to both sides, but I do mind name calling, put down and negative inferences.

Not to rain on your parade Kishgo, but I'm pretty sure that I've read somewhere in passing that you won't be safe just surrendering your land line. I think you will also be open to the telemarketer calls via your cell phone. Perhaps that is just down here in the states - not sure where I read about this either. Anybody else know about this?

I have heard that rumour also. We have been lucky with the landline, only 3 - 4 calls a month.

that is one reason I try to stay out of those kind of discussions. Nobody ever wins those arguments.

I agree retired but there never is a winner but only open discussions.
Re: cell phones. we each have one and at the cottage, a VOIP system. Not one telemarketer call in three years. Heaven!

when i had my us based cell phone,i only got one telemarketing call,and when i said i'm in traffic right now and have no time to talk,they said is this your cell phone? i said yes, then they hung up !
never had any others, but get lots on my cdn.cell phone !
