So, our company said they'd be here mid-afternoon. It's now almost five o'clock and still no show! ARGH! I tried calling, no answer at home or cell phone. Sure hope nothing serious has happened. But...meantime I feel as if my entire afternoon has been put 'on hold'. Well, if they don't show, I have a lemon meringue pie to share with my neighbours. We COULD eat the whole thing ourselves but will not. LOL Too tempting.

Thanks Retired. I knew I could count on you.
Our company arrived at 5 PM on the dot and stayed 10 min. They apologized profusely, said that a couple of people stopped in at their place just as they were about to leave and had an errand to do on the way. (Have they not heard of phones????) Anyway, they offered their apologies, smelled dinner cooking but refused to stay on such short notice. (Gee..I had enough dessert for four!!) I think they were too embarrased to stay. (Note to self....long time before next invite!!) At least they are safe.
