Simcoe Mall updates
CD989 has reported Winners and Sportchek will be coming to the mall. Looking at the picture I cannot see Roulston's.

I, for one, tend to see this "progress" as a bit of a "regress" - not just in Simcoe, but elsewhere. I don't understand what makes these developers believe that "free-standing" stores - with no indoor corridor is preferable to the covered malls that we've had for a few decades now (which were ONCE the way of the future).
I for one would prefer to walk down a heated, covered hallway - and stop in to the stores I'm interested in - rather than to browse one - and then go outside - to heat or rain or snow - and on to the next one I want to patronize. I might be more inclined to head on to my vehicle and go home!!!

There's only one problem with your senario of casually walking thru a one-stop mall, observer. What if you have so many purchases from one store that you can hardly walk and you have a bunch of other stores to see in the same mall? You have to go to the car and dump off all your purchases before heading back inside again. Heck you may just as well drive from store to store. And think of all the exercise you get from walking numerous times back to your car from the stores? :]
And besides...breathing in all that filtered mall air for prolonged periods of time can't be that good for you. Best to get out and get some fresh air, eh?
