I wonder what happened to his 50 million dollar lawsuit against the CBC? Seem to disappear over night. More women coming forward, Friends of his talking about his "ways" in the bedroom. Dude is screwed.

The filing of complaints with Toronto police pretty much solidified my assumption from the get go.

This situation is getting a lot of air time. Now reading allegations that those in the art community "knew" there was some weird stuff happening - but no one said anything. Seems that those at the CBC - his supposed superiors - also knew - but weren't willing to fry the golden goose.

I think sometimes it's difficult to read the lines between an accusation and a factual formal complaint? The. The whole internal investigation procedure kicks in and people don't want to get involved.

I'm a actually shocked though, that there were senior folks involved (actually aware) that didnt take this issue up the ladder. They either dropped the ball when they shouldn't have, or really didn't have enough information tomtKe this to the next level of command,

Now we have a couple of Parliamentarians being accused of sexual harassment. I don't doubt that it has happened - and happens all the time!!! There seems to be a culture of "entitlement" - not just for sexual harassment - but for most everything. "I'm important. I'm successful. I'm powerful. I'm immune. I can DO what I want to". Think of Allison Redford, Rob Ford, Jack Kennedy, Bill Clinton - the list just goes on and on; including Pat Duffy, Pamela Wallin - and those Ornge people. Just think it's an unfortunate belief that comes upon people in power - that they somehow BELIEVE that their positions entitle them to more than the average Joe.

Sheila Copps has also come forward, saying she was sexually harassed in Ontario Parliament when she was just 28.

Is this opening up a new avenue for women to air their grievances that actually happened to them? Or is it opening an avenue for unfounded accusations?

I don't doubt the validity of Shelia Copps' accusations - nor those of a lot of the other women who have come forward. BUT - will it open an avenue for SOME women to attempt to gain either notoriety of financial recompense by making FALSE claims?

And so, should someone lost his job if he's accused of sexual harassment? - or of assault? Or, does that depend what his job is?

Just saw a blurb on CBC News.ca that the lawsuit from Ghomeshi against the CBC has been dropped! Hmmmmm.

Jian Ghomeshi was arrested Wednesday in Toronto and is facing charges of four counts of sexual assault and one count of "overcome resistance - choking."

He appeared in court this afternoon. CBC's John Lancaster reported that Ghomeshi was "sitting alone in prisoner's box. White shirt, black blazer. Looks tired."

The Toronto Star reports Ghomeshi has been granted $100,000 bail on the conditions that he live with his mother, surrender his passport and not leave Ontario. Ghomeshi's next court appearance is Jan. 8.

Still innocent till proven guilty - . . . .but . . . .

I never heard of him either until this came up. There are so many coming out of the wood work I don't know who to believe. Most would be true but some are not and innocent people are going to be hurt

I agree, retired. There undoubtedly WILL be some that won't be true, and INNOCENT people will be hurt. Yet - for the ones that ARE true - there have already been innocent people hurt; and maybe this "airing" of their victimization is finally giving them some "relief"

Obviously, there must have been SOME people who have heard of him - or this whole item wouldn't have risen to such national prominence. BUT - I'm like you - I had never heard of him. Not sure I'm glad to have heard of him now! LOL
