Love the international shots! It's the only way I will see the world. I agree RBW, FL looks like a drive to Pt. D in comparison.

@GF. I agree the cottage has lost some of that 'cottage' appeal but at the end of the day, this look was the only one I could handle. It's fresh, clean, efficient and functional. The bathroom was updated too. I dislike much of it, mostly because I stepped out of my comfort zone (to accommodate hubby) and so to me it's just a room that I use. Love the look of the Captain's Room however. Hard to keep everybody happy!

Re: Pictures Only
We lived at Long Point for two summers while my Dad was stationed there. One summer we drove by jeep to the lighthouse. I walked on that boardwalk and then Mr. Ansley the lighthouse keeper took us right to the top to see the most magnificent view. I believe it was about 1966. (Had to think about that, figuring the sixties was way too long ago, but it's probably correct. LOL) It was one of those awesome moments.

Yes, it used to be possible to walk up to the top. Did so on that day in 1984 when we were there also.

Looks like the replacement is quite a bit larger than the existing shed. Why is it we all need more space to store the stuff we hardly use any longer? LOL

Re: Pictures Only
We are all guilty of adding to our 'collections'. When we moved from the city, I brought all the pots and pans to the cottage, which was well stocked anyway. Then we bought this fantastic induction stove that requires anodized pans. CTC had a great sale on them today so I bought the entire 11 pieces as it was less expensive to buy the entire set than to purchase the pieces individually. I bought a single piece earlier on sale to $70 from $239 as if I'd ever spend that much for one pot!!! But they are the best I've ever used!

Re: Pictures Only
Good to hear you're liking what you got. My son bought me a roasting pan - high end stuff - red - I can't remember the name right now - and it IS as good as the old aluminum roaster that I got from my mother which produces to die for flavours.
