the calendar and the mayan prediction !
There have been about 514 leap years since the present calendar was invented, and if it hadn't been for leap years the current date would be about 07/28/2013, and since the Mayan calendar had no leap years in it then the end of the world would have been some time ago !
so i am no longer looking forward to the end !
or what do you think ??

Hmmm, good point. I wonder if I can get my money back for that "apocalypse survival condo" being built on the moon I paid for.

Interesting. Makes sense. I wonder why it took so long for someone to realize this?

That brings up another point I quite don't understand. If leap years make those years longer by a day wouldn't the earth be in a different position by now that doesn't correlate to the date of the month? Wouldn't the earth be farther along the 365 day path because of those extra days being added and it would be alot warmer for this time of year?

thats why we have leap years, because we take 365 days plus about 5 hours and 58 min. to go aroud the sun in one orbit.
so every 4 years we gain close to 24 hours hence the 29th of feb.
so without it we would be a long ways ahead in days but still in the same orbit position.
